We have two sheep that we got as sock lambs so they are extremely friendly.

They come to call and are very good to handle.

They are very gentle and have lovely characters.

Sheep make good pets but do need a few things to keep them in tip top condition.

Shearing; Sheep need to be shorn once a year as the weather gets hot as this not only stops them overheating but also prevents them getting mucky and prone to flystrike.

Feet; They need their feet trimming on a regular basis and checking over for foot rot.

Trimming is very easy and we do ours ourselves.

Fencing; Sheep can be quite the Houdinis so it is important to have adequate fencing to keep them in.

Feed; In the summer when there is plenty of grass we do not feed our sheep but in the winter months they need hay and a sheep mix. We also provide them with a mineral lick.
